• Anna and Henry eloped, against her father’s wishes.

• She never arrived in Washington D.C. as First Lady. She was ill and away when he was inaugurated and she was packing to move there when he died a month in.

• She helped raise her grandson Benjamin, who also became president.

• She lived to be 88.
